West Ealing Community CIC supports community spaces, local events and practical projects that bring people together and create long-term benefit for West Ealing.
Current priority
West Ealing Community Library
West Ealing Community Library is a key local asset. Since 2025, West Ealing Community CIC has helped manage the library and support its volunteers while working towards a stronger long-term future for the building and its services.
The priority is to keep the library open, strengthen volunteer support, improve day-to-day operations and develop the space into a wider community hub.
- Protect the library as a core community asset.
- Improve volunteer coordination, training and support.
- Expand activities, services and events for local residents.
- Upgrade facilities and reduce running costs.
How we want to develop the library
The work is planned in three clear phases, from protecting existing services to developing a stronger community hub.
Phase 1
Maintain a core community asset
Keep the library open and improve the basic systems that support volunteers, visitors and existing activities.
- Update policies and operating procedures.
- Recruit volunteer coordination support.
- Improve communications and awareness.
Phase 2
Grow services and activities
Develop the library into a multi-purpose hub with more events, community services and cultural activity.
- Recruit a WECL manager.
- Grow the volunteer base.
- Add moveable shelving for flexible use.
Phase 3
Refurbish for long-term value
Reconfigure and improve the building so it can support expanded social, cultural and economic activity.
- Improve the internal layout.
- Create better space for events.
- Support long-term sustainability.
Community events
The CIC also supports events that bring neighbours together and celebrate local community life. Each event has its own space for photos or a gallery.
Annual event
Spring Fair
A community event where residents can meet old and new friends, enjoy music and buy local produce. The next Spring Fair is planned for 25 April 2026.
Family event
Christmas Fair
A family friendly event with activities for children, including Father Christmas, face painting, puppet shows and live music.
